Meego pre-alpha for handsets is coming out June 30th and the final version is going to be done in October. That’s a whole lot of planning! And whole lot of hurt in Nokia’s future. Meanwhile, and cause while Nokia is using the N900 as the MeeGo dev platform it won’t actually support it (way to go Nokia! we love you too!) people are all busy trying to get Froyo into the N900.
A couple of European WiMAX operators close down. Why not just the pull the plug all at once ?
Microsoft surprised the world with bringing IE9 into the present with canvas, video, audio and font support. The Chakra JS engine also seems to be coming along quite zippy and canvas has HW acceleration so it might actually get useful in the future. It even gets up to 83 in ACID3 too.
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers says CC, EFF and others are undermining copyright and are all around anti-american. Someone should educate this copyright wetpants crusaders about Creative Commons and Open Source Software being all about copyright. Without strong protection there wouldn’t be the GPL or Share Alike.
I remember more than 20 years ago reading about how huge fields of solar arrays in the Sahara would power us and bring pockets of shady green to the desert. Seems like now is actually going to happen with Europe lining up to import electricity from the Sahara.
Meanwhile, the Gulf gusher is still gushing and people are reporting BP is burning sea turtles alive in “controlled burns”.
