Week In Review 2014W26
Google IO was upon us which means new android major version previews and new interface languages to keep developers busy redoing old apps and
new phones without vendor stuff and new clunky handware. There were also cloud services that will probably shame icloud and gmail APIs to make your mail more junky. There was also a revolutionary advancement in 3d tech. Oddly there was no mention of being able to increase permissions silently on updates. That means an app that now can read incoming SMS and know if a call is active will be able to send sms and make or divert calls on the next upgrade. The piss poor attitude towards the permission system is the largest reason I use android less and less. Permission creep is lowering the number of installed apps on my nexus and the way things are going I’ll never have a L device.Meanwhile Facebook found a way for advertisers to give way even more data about FB users and delivering more annoying ads. And cause Facebook culture doesn’t stop there it came to light Facebook ran a psychology experiment by altering the timeline of 689 thousand people. Because users aren’t really important and people are just tinny cash cows.
