The 2Q2009 smartphone market results are in. Nokia keeps steadily eroding, RIM made a nice come back and Apple had a huge leap year-on-year with the 3GS going from 2% to nearly 14% global share. The big loser ? “Others”. In terms of operating systems the obvious loser is Microsoft Windows Mobile with a 30% drop.
WinMo is putting the hurt on HTC as well as the poor folk who find themselves with WinMo phones for no fault of their own. And cause there’s not enough MS induced mobile suffering in the world, Microsoft/Danger killed all Sidekick backups. I guess MS just can’t acquire a major service without screwing up in the first months.
Adobe is bringing Flash to all smartphones. All, except the iPhone of course. That’s because the iPhone is getting apps dumped right from CS5.
Nokia keeps pushing ahead with Maemo5, this time the Qt port. Just one more nail in S60 I guess.
On you suck news, Sarkozy bootlegs DVDs when he feels like it. No news about Sarkozy kicking himself to jail yet.
